No, it's not that kind of coffee talk. I'm starting a monthly opportunity for parents to come in to enjoy a cup of coffee while we talk about the topics they are most concerned about, their kids. At this first meeting, we'll talk about how to improve communication. Here are some things we are currently doing: Super Tuesday folders, the Oak Ridge Facebook page, a new website with a calendar you can customize. New additions with be a monthly Principal Coffee, a weekly planner to update parents on upcoming events and of course our Oak Ridge Principal's newsletter.
Our first Principal's Coffee will be Monday, January 23rd at 8:30 at Oak Ridge.

The Great Kindness Challenge
Oak Ridge is participating in the Great Kindness Challenge which is one week dedicated to creating a culture of kindness on campuses nationwide. Our school will join hundreds of schools across the country for the 2017 Great Kindness Challenge, a powerful and positive bullying prevention initiative that will lead to more kindness, unity and respect.
To kick off the week of kindness we wanted to ask community members to form a Community Kindness Tunnel on Monday, Jan. 23 from 7:45-8:15 (rain/snow date of Friday, Jan. 27) at the entrance to the Oak Ridge School to welcome kids to school with high fives, encouraging signs and smiles. All are welcome. Please join us!
